เด็กเกิดใหม่น้อยลงทุกวัน แรงงานลด สังคมไทยเคลื่อนตัวเข้าสู่สังคมสูงวัย เกิดสภาวะเกิดน้อยอายุยืน การประมาณการประชากรของประเทศไทย พ.ศ.2553-2583 ที่สภาพัฒนาการเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งชาติ รายงานต่อคณะรัฐมนตรีพบว่า สัดส่วนประชากรผู้สูงอายุ (60 ปีขึ้นไป) ในปี 2563 มีจำนวน 12 ล้านคน คิดเป็น 18 % ของประชากรทั้งหมด และจะเพิ่ม 20.42 ล้านคน หรือคิดเป็น 31.28 % ในปี 2583 ขณะที่ประชากรวัยแรงงาน (15-59 ปี) มีแนวโน้มลดลงจาก 43.26 ล้านคน หรือ 65 % ในปี 2563 เป็น 36.5 ล้านคน หรือ 56 %ในปี 2583 อธิบายง่ายๆว่า สังคมไทยจะมีคนทำงานน้อยลง และกลายเป็นมีแรงงาน พอๆกับผู้สูงอายุ จากวัยแรงงาน 3.6 คนต่อผู้สูงอายุ 1 คน ในปี 2563 ลดลงเหลือวัยแรงงาน 1.8 คนต่อผู้สูงอายุ 1 คนในปี 2583 ท่ามกลางอีกสถานการณ์ที่ว่า ผู้คนส่วนใหญ่มีทรัพย์สินยังไม่เพียงพอในการเกษียณเป็นปัญหาของระดับชาติ อะไรที่มาปรับแก้ในสภาวะสังคมแบบนี้? เพื่อสร้าง productivity ทดแทนกำลังคนของชาติได้

ขั้นแรก สิ่งที่เราต้องทำคือการปลดล็อคความคิดของตัวเอง ถ้าคุณเป็นคนหนึ่งที่ยังคิดว่า สิ่งที่ตัวเองทำอยู่นั้นดีแล้ว หรือความรู้ที่ตัวเองมีนั้นเพียงพอต่อการทำงาน คุณก็ไม่สามารถก้าวมาเป็นคนที่มีความคิดแบบ “Growth Mindset” ได้ เพราะความคิดแบบ “Growth Mindset” จำเป็นต้องหลุดออกจากพื้นที่ทางความคิดเดิม ๆ เปิดรับความคิดใหม่ ๆ มีความยืดหยุ่น เชื่อในศักยภาพของคนและองค์ความรู้ต่าง ๆ รวมถึงมีวิสัยทัศน์ในการสร้างการพัฒนาทั้งต่อตัวเองและองค์กร การมีแนวคิดแบบ “Growth Mindset” จึงเป็นเครื่องมือสำคัญในการเป็นนักเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตหรือเป็นคนที่มี “Lifelong Learning”

การเรียนรู้มีหลายรูปแบบ โดยในแต่ละรูปแบบก็จะมีเป้าหมายที่แตกต่างกัน แต่สำหรับการเป็นนักเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต ก็ต้องเลือกรูปแบบการเรียนรู้ในรูปแบบของตัวเอง (Self-directed learning) เพราะการกำหนดเป้าหมายและวิธีการด้วยตัวเองจะตอบโจทย์ชีวิตของคุณมากที่สุด โดยในการสร้างการเรียนรู้ในรูปแบบตัวเอง คุณจำเป็นต้องวิเคราะห์และพิจารณาตัวเองว่ามีเป้าหมายในการเรียนเพื่ออะไร ใช้ทรัพยากรอะไรบ้างในการเรียนรู้ เช่น ค่าใช้จ่าย อุปกรณ์ต่าง ๆ เราก็ต้องคำนวณ รวมถึงเลือกรูปแบบในการเรียน เช่น เรียนผ่านเวิร์กชอป, คอร์สออนไลน์ หรือหนังสือ องค์ประกอบนี้ก็ต้องวางแผนให้ดี และที่สำคัญที่สุดคือ การเรียนนั้นจะต้องประเมินผลได้ เพราะการประเมินผลจะทำให้รู้ว่า ตัวเรามีศักยภาพมากน้อยแค่ไหนตามเงื่อนไขที่ได้ตั้งไว้

การเรียนรู้ด้วยการลงมือทำ หรือ “Active Learning” เป็นรูปแบบการเรียนรู้ที่ช่วยพัฒนาศักยภาพของตัวเองอย่างสมบูรณ์แบบ เพราะเป็นการเชื่อมโยงความรู้ที่ได้เคยศึกษามาในอดีตและที่เพิ่งได้เรียน มาประยุกต์ใช้จริงและเห็นถึงองค์ประกอบอื่นในความรู้นั้น ๆ เพื่อนำไปต่อยอดในการทำงานต่อไปได้ แต่สำหรับความรู้ในศาสตร์ที่ลงมือทำได้ยาก อย่าง ประวัติศาสตร์ ปรัชญา เราก็สามารถสร้างการเรียนรู้แบบ Active Leaning กับองค์ความรู้นั้นได้โดยการสร้างการปฏิสัมพันธ์กับความรู้นั้น ๆ เช่น การจดโน้ตเพื่อบันทึก หรือเขียนบทความ วิธีการนี้จึงเป็นอีกวิธีการหนึ่งที่ช่วยให้เราไปถึงเป้าหมายในการเรียนรู้ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ การเป็นนักเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต “Lifelong Learning” จึงเป็นวิธีคิดที่ไม่ใช่เรื่องยาก ขอเพียงคุณมีเป้าหมายและตั้งมั่นอยากจะพัฒนาตนเองและองค์กรที่คุณอยู่ คุณจะพบว่า “ตัวคุณเองมีศักยภาพในการเรียนรู้ที่ไม่รู้จบ”
