(:53) First, Anna Matteo has a story about a dog show in New York like no other. The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is the most famous dog show in America. It is sometimes called the "Super Bowl" of dog shows. Monty the giant schnauzer won the top prize in the 149th Westminster dog show. Since mid-January, the education ministry in Senegal has been testing a program that teaches English in more than 600 nursery and primary school classes. (12:55) Next, Bryan Lynn has some advice that owners of smartphones might be interested in. Smartphones have become valuable tools for helping us organize our lives. (19:52) Finally, Andrew and Jill Robbins discuss -er endings on Lesson of the Day. They use Lesson 32 and 33 of Let’s Learn English to talk about the language of baseball. It also gives them a chance to talk about how using the ending -er can turn a verb into a noun: bat/batter; pitch/pitcher. Using examples, they talk about forms that words can take depending on whether they are verbs or nouns.
